Candidate: Rep - David H. Leroy US Representative District 1

1. Do you support or oppose requiring families who home educate to register their children with either the state or their local public school district?

2. Do you support or oppose requiring all children taught at home to take standardized achievement tests each year?

3. What other requirements, if any, would you favor as a condition of a parent's right to teach his or her children at home?

4. Other comments that you wish to make on the subject of home education:

I am a strong advocate and supporter of the home education of children. When I was Attorney General of Idaho in the 1970's-1980's, I defended the right of parents to home school without limitations, registration or excessive requirements against interests which wanted to eliminate that option. That remains my opinion, both in ????? and in fact. The superior results and brilliant scholarship attained regularly by home schooled pupils vidicates my position. As a Congressman, I will suffer no law which harms home schooling.
